The purpose of the Central Union is to implement breeding programs at regional or national levels, as determined by the Ministry, to improve the genetic potential of domestically bred, imported, and local breeds to raise highly productive animals. This includes increasing their productivity, maintaining their pedigrees and preliminary pedigree records, evaluating collected data, and conducting insurance procedures. The Union personnel are trained. Regional and national competitions are organized. The Union supplies and markets its products both domestically and internationally, establishing facilities for the evaluation of products, and regulating, developing, and operating relations with other countries. The Ministry also carries out all animal breeding activities and develops animal husbandry policies.
